Be a Part of Atlanta's Design History

It’s not every day you have the chance to sleep in an architectural masterpiece. But in legendary architect John Portman’s Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown, you do. And, as Mr. Portman will tell you, it’s not just a stately postmodern edifice. It’s a luxurious, stylish boutique hotel in the heart of downtown, where modern design meets lavish comfort. Every detail, from the custom-made carpets designed from artwork in the architect’s own collection to the floating spiral glass-and-steel lobby staircase to upholstered corners ideal for lingering, has been thought through for your relaxation and enjoyment.

The hotel is ideally located next to AmericasMart (another Portman work), and some of Atlanta’s most famous destinations, including Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Olympic Centennial Park, and the College Football Hall of Fame. And as you amble about town, admiring the Atlanta cityscape, remember that much of it was designed and built by Mr. Portman, and you are staying in his legacy project.

Indeed, he designed this postmodern building more than 50 years ago, when he was just beginning to remake Atlanta’s skyline and those of other cities across the globe. Now he’s back, having transformed the bottom nine floors into Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown, a state-of-the-art boutique hotel with 204 high-tech guest rooms and suites. You can’t help but feel every part of Atlanta’s design history.
